Cary Boshamer owned numerous textile mills and the first in his family to attend college. He was a starting
lineman on the UNC football team from 1912-1914. Later, in the 1970’s, he donated the money
to construct one of the most impressive baseball stadiums, Boshamer Stadium, to his beloved
University of North Carolina. Boshamer served for years on the UNC Board of Trustees.
