Jeremiah Lytton was a native of nearby Plymouth, North Carolina and assisted initially in the building of
the Goose Club. His family farmed land on Highway 45 close to the lake. Lytton became a trusted
friend and companion to the members and much of the success of the club was in part due to his
dedication. His knowledge of the Lake and the best spots for fishing and hunting was legendary.
