T.L. Wilson

Secretary Treasurer, Ruby Cotton Mills

Wilson was a farmer, cotton merchant and finally a textile mill manager. He played a significant role
in expanding textile manufacturing in the southeast and making Gaston County’s industry
recognized nationally. He graduated from Erskine College and entered the Army in 1917.
Returning to Gastonia in 1919, he began working for Ruby Cotton Mill and helped guide that
organization through the depression. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and
was active in textile organizations and was also a Director for First National Bank.
